History of Corydon

1950’s

From Adremont Blue Prince to Light Cavalry of Ladypark

1957

This was the year that John bought his first Rough Collie
In July he contacted Miss Grey of the famous Ladypark Collies for a dog puppy.

The result that a 12 week old LIGHT CAVALRY OF LADYPARK came to him at his parents home at Hertford

He became very well-known for his, at the time, huge coat.

With a pedigree like this he should have been a world beater, but he was just a very big softy who did a little bit of winning and was a superb dog for me to start out on the showing game.

Dam of Light Cavalry of Ladypark. He was one of eleven puppies and in her next litter she reared thirteen. Quite a dam. She was owned by a dis-abled gentleman in North wales so did not get to many shows, but when she was shown she always won, and many judges thought that she would easily win her Championship. She was the dam of several big winners, including a Champion in Germany and the Best of Breed winner at Brussels International Show April 5th 1959, when he was just 9 months old.
