REMEMBERED WITH LOVE AND AFFECTION
CORYDON GLORY BEE
Born 16/1/1985 By NU CH CORYDON AUGUSTUS CAESAR ex CH CORYDON GLORY HALLELUJAH
She hated dog shows, so we did not bother to show her very much. But, she loved puppies and was one of our most successful dams. Her sister DK Ch WW89 VDH Ch CORYDON SYMBOL OF GLORY was World Winner bitch in 1986 and the World Winner dog and Best of Breed was Bee’s son DK CH CORYDON BE BRAVE. She was also the dam of: INT CH CORYDON BEAM ME UP NZ CH CORYDON RULE BRITTANIA CORYDON MOON GODDESS 2 CCs CORYDON SILVER MOON. 1 CC
Be Brave was by Ch Corydon Hotspur and the other 2 Champions were by Ch Corydon Gold Spur. Moon Goddess was the dam of Ch Corydon Kittycat and Silver Moon was the dam of the record breaking Ch Phreelancer Phrosty Moon Over Corydon. She had 5 litters. And just to show how difficult it is to breed Blue Merles, her first litter to Moonlighter produced 4 puppies, all tricolour, but her next litter to him produced 4 puppies all of whom were Blue Merle. You cannot guess in this game. She was out of the outstanding Ch Corydon Glory Hallelujah who I think was the best bitch that we have produced in this kennel , and I have the same opinion of her sire NU Ch Corydon Augustus Caesar. She was out of Glory Hallelujah’s third litter. They were born several days early and caught me on the hop. There were seven puppies born of which 5 were of normal size, but Bee and her sister were extremely small. They were the same size as my little finger and could not have weighed more than 2 ounces. I told the dam that I would pick up the dead bodies in the morning. Except that in the morning there were no dead bodies. Bee and her sister thrived on what they were able to get from their mother and both turned out to be rather big. Bee was a good size and her tri sister (who went to a lady called Barbara Blake!!! - no relation) grew to be a very big girl indeed. Barbara had wanted to bottle feed them but I said no as this was probably the best way to kill them. Amazing how strong very young puppies can be if they are healthy. And the dam was a very good mother and produced an abundance of milk.
