This was an interesting year. Not quite the success of the previous year, but we did make up another Champion, won 4 Challenge Certificates, 4 Reserve Challenge Certificates and had a Best in Show win.
It all started well, because CORYDON WILL SCARLET won Best Opposite Sex in Show at the East Anglian Collie Association Open Show under John Geddes, then CH CORYDON KITTYCAT won the Reserve CC at the Midland Collie Club Ch Show under Peter Chave. She then went to Crufts and won the Open Bitch Class under Hugh Jones who also awarded a first prize to CORYDON DEMI SEQUE. And CORYDON WILL SCARLET won a class at this show under Shirley Toothill.
Then a big event, PHREELANCER PHROSTY MOON OVER CORYDON went to his first show, which was at Northumberland and Durham Championship Show under Mr J Tait. He was placed Reserve in the Minor Puppy Dog Class. He was not to get such a low placing very often over the next 10 years or so. In fact he won Best of Breed at the Notts County Show just 6 weeks later.
And the day after that CORYDON WILL SCARLET won the Challenge Certificate at the Lancashire and Cheshire Collie Club Championship Show under Mrs A Arch who also awarded CORYDON BLACKCAT the Reserve CC.
Then to Bath Championship Show where CORYDON BLACKCAT won his second Dog CC and Best of Breed, under Alan Jeffries.
We then had a long rest during the summer months as coats were dropped.
Then to Ayshire Collie club in October where CORYDON BLACKCAT won the CC and Best in Show. So he became CH CORYDON BLACKCAT. Then, just 2 weeks later he went to Midland Counties Championship Show under Derek Smith who awarded him his 4th CC.
The year ended on a high when Brenda Banbury awarded first prize in the Junior Dog class to PHREELANCER PHROSTY MOON OVER CORYDON and then went on to award him the Reserve CC.
