CORYDON COLLIES
The history of CORYDON ROUGH COLLIES
1979

A most successful year. Another Champion and a Group win. The first by a male Rough Collie for many years and it would be another 23 years before another male won a Group, and that was one of ours as well (Ch Corydon il Supremo).

The year started with a bang as Caesar won Best in Show at East Anglian Open Show under Mr A Clark and his dam, CORYDON POLLYHANNAH won Best in Show at London Collie Club Sanction Show under Jean Lawson.

At Crufts under Mr L Green who was at the time extremely sick (he died very shortly after the show) Hero won the Yearling dog Class and Hannah won the Limit bitch Class.

Then it was to the Midland Collie Club Championship Show where we braved the snow drifts and showed Caesar under Jack Wigglesworth, who awarded him his first CC. His Dam CH EVERLOVIN EMILY AT CORYDON won the bitch CC and Best in Show. A day to remember.

Caesar then went to the London & Provincial Collie Club under Stella Clark who awarded him Best in Show and then onto the Collie Association Open Show under Mrs A Smith who awarded him yet another Best in Show. Birmingham National Championship Show was next with Geoff Mildon judging who awarded Caesar his second CC. Then on to the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show under Mrs J Cable who awarded Caesar the Res CC.

Hero then came out and was Best of Breed at Cambridge, just to get his eye in for the East of England Championship Show under John Parrott who awarded him the CC and Best of Breed. He then went on to win the Working Group under Cathy Sutton.

Caesar went to Leicester Champ Show and won the Res CC under Mrs E Clark. Hero went to Birmingham City Championship Show where he only got a 4th in the Open Dog class but went on to win the Champion Stakes. One of very few Rough Collies to win this prestigious award.

Then on to Collie Club of Wales Championship Show under Lisa Burtenshaw where Caesar won the CC and Best in Show. So becoming CH LITTLE CAESAR AT CORYDON.

The last show of the year for Caesar was the London & Provincial Collie Club where Mrs V Plimmer awarded him yet another Best in Show award.

So the year ended with another Champion. A Group Winner. 4 CCs, 2 Res CCs and 6 Best in Show Awards and 31 First Prizes.
