THE HISTORY OF CORYDON COLLIES

From CH CORYDON QUI VIVE to CH LITTLE CAESAR AT CORYDON

An interesting year because we started showing 3 dogs who were to make quite an impact on the show scene.

These were CORYDON KING HECTOR, CORYDON QUINAULT ( later CH CORYDON QUINAULT)and BARNVILLE BLUE BARNET AT CORYDON

They all did well at their first shows. Quinault won his Junior warrant with 31 points and was placed in the Top 6 for all Puppies for 1972.

Blue Barnet ended the year on 15 Junior Warrant points.

25 Points are needed to win the Junior Warrant. The scale of points are as follows. First Prize in a Breed Class at a Championship Show 3 Points. First prize at an Open Show for Breed Classes 1 Point. The one stipulation is that there must be at least 3 exhibits present in the class.

Only 2 Best of Breed awards this year. I to Quo Vadis at the big Newark and Nottinghamshire Agricultural Show where the entry always was very high. Usually more than 50 exhibits for this Open Show. Blue Barnet had a Best of Breed at a small Open Show. He did have a big win when he won Best Puppy in Show at the West of England Collie Society Championship Show under Jim Broderick.

However the dogs managed to win 33 First Prizes during the Year.
